Awards Committee: Help PAA East update their awards program, both the selection and actual event. We particularly encourage representatives from companies that participate in the awards and people that participate in other award programs.
Education Committee: We especially welcome anyone who works as a trainer or education director/coordinator or anyone who routinely seeks or develops educational programs for staff members, such as human resource personnel. Committee meets 3 times per year to determine education needs of PAA East membership and plan educational programs and partnerships. They also participate in a once per year in-person or online focus group that brings forth new educational ideas to the committee.
Faculty Review Panel: This committee reviews all educational seminar proposals and instructor applicants to assess subject matter and faculty experience to teach the proposed subjects. The committee meets virtually via conference calls and also assesses proposal materials in between meetings. Recommendations are forwarded to the education committee for their consideration.
Helping Hands: This is a very active, 'hands-on' committee. Committee members will develop, implement, and support new and existing community programs. The committee is asked to aide in fundraising efforts at various events to put towards programs. The committee meets a minimum of (3) times a year and organizes and holds a minimum of (2) events per year. Active participation in the planning and delivery of the events is expected.
Legislative Committee: Committee members follow legislative issues in order to recommend policies and actions for the Association, and assist in lobbying efforts where needed. The Committee makes recommendations regarding appropriate PAC expenditures. Committee members are also contacted via email for their thoughts and comments on issues as the need arises. Additionally, members are strongly encouraged to attend the annual visits to Washington DC and Harrisburg, which usually occur in or about March of each year. The committee meets 6 times a year.
Marketing Committee: Committee that is comprised of apartment professionals that work in Marketing and/or Communications are encouraged to apply. This committee thinks creatively about how we how to engage, market, and communicate our programs, events and services to non-members and members. Committee meets (3) times per year.
Trade Show Committee: Committee members advise and recommend improvements to the annual Trade Show & Education Conference held annually in March. They also aid in selecting a theme for the show, marketing to attendees, assist in booth sales and other various ways to help the staff of PAA EAST develop a successful show. The committee usually meets 3-4 times a year.
