It is that time of year again to enter your community in our annual 2018 Best in Living Awards. Show the public and your peers what your community has to offer from leasing interactions, marketing efforts, maintenance upkeep and overall premise appearance. These prestigious awards recognize the excellence within the apartment industry in the Philadelphia Metropolitan and Southern New Jersey areas. Filling out your call-to-entry form: PLEASE NOTE: You will notice the word "booth" mentioned on through out the form. This is a website format that cannot be changed however, you are on the right website! "Booth" in this matter will mean "award".
All nominations and registrations for award nominations will be done on-line this year. As mentioned above, the word booth will appear on the call-to-entry screen. Please understand that you are on the right page and booth in fact means award. You will know you are on the correct form by seeing the Best in Apartment Living in the upper right hand corner. You can pick more than one entry and are encouraged to. There are three simple steps when selecting your category and placing your nominations.
STEP 1: To register, Choose your preferred categories to enter and submit your property. You can delete your choice if you make a mistake.
STEP 2: If you plan to enter into multiple categories, you will need to click the BLUE BUTTON on the right hand side of the screen before selecting the 2nd/3rd/etc category, in order to choose each additional category preference. By not clicking on the blue button to add additional categories, the order will not be complete.
TAKE NOTE: The blue button says "Click here to by another booth." Booth in this case, means award.
STEP 3: When you are done choosing, click on the 'Continue to Checkout' button to go to the next step.
The next steps are when you enter your property information, contact email, address, etc. This is extremely important so we know who the nominees are.
For the two new categories of Property Manager of the Year and Maintenance Supervisor of the year, it is a separate link. Once payment is made for the two categories, you will be receiving the online nomination form.
Leasing Only $220/per entry Leasing will be judged based upon a telephone & on-site ‘blind’ apartment shop.
Leasing/Marketing & Website Engagement Only $280/per entry This category includes Leasing (above category) telephone & on-site ‘blind’ apartment shop but also evaluates and judges your ‘web-engagement’ and website. The shopper will judge the navigation ability to lease an apartment, the leasing team’s online, and email engagement as a prospective renter.
Maintenance Only $150/per entry The apartment community will be evaluated on the overall level of care of the community. Judging includes a scheduled tour of the property’s product including a vacant apartment make-ready, care of amenities, common areas, and maintenance shop. This is a scheduled visit.
Community Excellence Only $100/per entry This ‘blind’ shop is a non-scheduled visit which will evaluate the community’s overall appearance and amenities.
NEW! Property Manager of the Year The manager will be judged on the property’s overall performance. Entries must submit an application form that is to be filled out by the manager or coworker. The form is accessible by clicking here. The apartment community manager must have the property entered in all three categories of Maintenance, Leasing/Marketing, and Overall Excellence. Only one winner is awarded by the highest score.
NEW! Maintenance Service Manager of the Year $50 per entry Supervisor should be nominated by their company supervisor or coworker must submit application form. The form is accessible by clicking here. The community must be entered in the Overall and Maintenance categories. The apartment community’s maintenance shop, production schedule, preventative maintenance program, make-ready product, and service request productivity will be considered in evaluating the nominee. Only one winner with the highest score.
NEW! Apartment Management Company of the Year $50 per entry Management companies with three or more communities entered in the Leasing/Marketing & Website Engagement, Maintenance, AND Overall Excellence categories may be entered for this award with payment of $50. The management company with the highest average score from all properties entered will be selected as Management Company of the Year.
If you entered in all three categories, you will automatically be entered to compete for our Top 10 winners and the Best in Apartment Living. Your property must have entered in Leasing/Marketing & Web Engagement, Maintenance and Community Excellence categories to be eligible to win.
All PAA East members in good-standing are eligible to enter their apartment communities and employees.
A separate online entry form must be completed for each property submitted for the leasing, maintenance, and community categories and submitted by May 11.
Individual award category applicants for Property Manager of the Year and Service Supervisor of the Year will receive a written application via email to be completed by May18.
There is no limit on the number of properties you may enter.
Any management company with three or more properties entered will automatically be considered for the Property Management Company of the Year award.
Any property entered in the leasing, maintenance, AND community award categories will automatically be considered for the Top 10 List and compete for overall #1.
NO TRANSFERS, CANCELLATIONS OR REFUNDS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Properties that have not paid in full by August 1 will become ineligible to receive an award.
Property entries are subject to evaluation by impartial judges. Judges will review entries from each category and score according to the criteria outlined in advance. Individual awards will be judged by committee.
PAA East reserves the right to audit entry forms for accuracy by the applicant. If there is found to be a variance in the information, the judges reserve the right to disqualify the applicant(s). No refunds will be given for disqualified applicants.
PAA East shall have the final authority on any discrepancy or dispute that may arise. The awards program is conducted in good spirit and fairness to all who enter and al participants are requested to cooperate in this manner.
No prior notice will be given to award winners. Awards will be announced and presented at the awards banquet on Thursday, September 27 at Drexelbrook.
The 2018 Best of Living Awards will take place on September 27, 2018 at Drexelbrook Catering & Special Event Center, Drexel Hill, PA. Tickets will go on sale for the awards in August
